This EFL textbook is designed for high-intermediate level students and consists of eight units, each focusing on a topic relevant to daily life. The challenging and carefully-designed activities will help increase students’ fluency and confidence in listening and speaking. In addition, the textbook aims to introduce thought-provoking ideas through fun and informative activities.
Warm Up & Dive In
These sections are designed to get students thinking about the topics and relating them to personal experience. Useful pictures, vocabulary, and background information are provided to give students a useful reference point to work through each unit.
Each unit contains five dialogues and two short talks. A range of different materials and English varieties are provided to give students the opportunity to listen to native English speakers in a number of different situations. Particular listening skills such as listening for the main idea and listening for specific information will be practical.
Pronunciation and Expressions
This section explains pronunciation rules and provides exercises that will help improve students’ oral fluency.
In this section, students watch a video depicting a real-life situation or TV broadcast. After watching, students answer questions according to the information from the video clip. Then, students are presented with a step-by step guide to express their own thoughts and feelings. To complete the section, they will have to work with a partner, asking and answering questions to complete the talk and present it to the class.
