This book is carefully designed for lower-intermediate level college students assumed to have an English vocabulary of 2500 words, and consists of six units, each focusing on a topic relevant to workplace. The engaging and challenging activities help promote students’ professional communication skills and confidence in a real world setting.
 
Getting Started
This section includes two warm-up activities. They are designed to get students familiar with the topics and encourage them to predict the listening content.
 
Conversation & Conversation Master
There are two series of short dialogues provided for role playing and listening comprehension. Each conversation focuses on the rhythm and intonation of natural language followed by a pronunciation practice to promote oral fluency.
 
Language Use
Useful expressions relevant to the unit are listed and two practices are provided: one is to practice the expressions using a new context, the other focuses on question-and-response listening skills.
 
Photo, Photo Master, Short Talk, and Talk Master
These practices emulate a TOEIC-style presentation. By providing students with various helpful listening and pronunciation tips, they will not only be able to comprehend the workplace related questions and talks, but their listening skills for taking TOEIC such as listening for main idea and specific information will be sharpened.
 
Talk Master
This section includes an authentic topic-related passage, and an oral practice is provided to allow students to use the passage information again when doing a role play.
